At Eversman Chiropractic, we address the root cause of your pain, not just the symptom. You and your family will be provided with the best spinal, extremity and whole body care available. The spine is the most important part of the skeletal system. It is designed to protect the spinal cord, nerves, and blood vessels. When there are misalignments in the spine, it applies pressure on the nerves and blood supply to organs, muscles and skin. A chiropractor is trained to identify the areas that need adjusted and align the spine, which aides in removing the pressure on the nerves and blood vessels. This increases healing, reduction/elimination of pain, relief from numbness and/or tingling, better sleep and overall body function. If there are structural problems in the spine, there will typically be negative health effects in other areas of the body.
The benefits of chiropractic treatment can be realized for many people with a variety of health conditions. If you are experiencing neck pain, headaches and migraines, back pain, vertigo, ringing in the ears or ear infections in children, we can help. How about leg spasms or lower back pain, carpal tunnel or sciatica? All these can typically be improved with comprehensive chiropractic care.
Once it is determined you are a candidate, adjustment is very gentle, precise, and an effective treatment to realign the spine and improve body function. The goal of the adjustment is to balance the structures of the spine and pelvis by relaxing the postural reflexes of the upper neck and to do so with as few treatments as possible. This allows for improved function throughout the central & peripheral nervous systems, promoting health and healing naturally. For the patient this can eliminate pain permanently along with other health challenges.
What is Impulse IQ or Neuromechanical adjusting and is it right for me?
In technical terms it is a device cleared by the FDA, endorsed by the International Spine Research Foundation and has patented technology that uses an AI chip, enabled through intuitive thrust sensors to identify resident frequency and deliver a precise harmonic thrust while normalizing pre-load subjectivity.
In layman’s terms, it is an instrument with an AI computer chip inside that is constantly adapting to the force and frequency delivered in real time due to the feedback received during the patients adjustment.
This device may be used with manual adjustments or entirely by itself for adjusting. The impulse IQ is great for treating pediatric seniors, mobility impaired patients and everyone in-between to deliver a safe, comfortable, and effective adjustment with all the benefits of manual adjustment. If you are a patient that is wary or uncomfortable with the conventional manual adjustments, then I would recommend the Impulse IQ. Patients may experience minor discomfort from being adjusted with Impulse IQ depending on the severity and/or tenderness of their misalignment. Many patients agree that it feels like a massage, it’s very comfortable and appreciate the lack of the popping/cracking sound during the adjustment, especially in the neck region.
NEW THERAPY AVAILABLE NOW!
How can Radial Pressure Wave Therapy (RPW) help me?
RPW needs no additional pre-examinations or treatments such as ultrasound imaging, local anesthesia, MRI, or X-rays. RPW can be an excellent non-invasive treatment method for indications that normally are very dificult to treat. For these indications we now know that radial pressure waves are a treatment method that helps reduce pain as well as improves function. It is a non-invasive treatment solution to long term instertion and soft tissue pathologies. Local treatments in the affected area will help support and reset the healing pattern.
Patient Understanding
Pain is treated directly and treatment with the RPW is a purposeful controlled trauma response. Chroinc conditions in soft tissue recover slowly and even if RPW therapy accelerates the repair, healing still takes time and typically requires at a miniumum 4-6 sessions depending on on the patient, how long the patient has had the chronic issue and overal general health. It is highly recommended that after the first treatment, even if the patient has left the office feeling better, they should restain from activitity because they are in a new process of healing.
Effective For Many Conditions & Tendon Disorders Including (But Not Limited To):
- Plantar Fasciitis (with or without heel spur)
- Heel Pain
- Patellar Pain
- Hip Pain
- Radial and Ulnar Humeral Epicondylitis
- Pain Reduction
- Revascularization
- Myofascial Trigger Points
- Piriformis Disorder
- Lower Back Pain
- Thoracic Back Pain
- Frozen Shoulder
- Trapezius Tension
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Trigger Finger
- And Many Disorders of Tendon Insertions
Physical therapy focuses on improving muscle flexibility, strength, joint function and proprioception. This results in increased balance, coordination, kinesthetic awareness, and better posture. Physical therapy may help reduce pain and muscular dysfunction by correcting imbalances.
Our patients have the benefit of therapy provided on-site. Dr. Eversman will initially focus on the structural correction of the spine and/or extremities depending on the issue or injury. Physical therapy will be introduced typically after the 1st or 2nd visit. Once determined if physical therapy should be implemented, the patient will be provided with stretches and exercises accordingly. As the patient progresses and improves with reduction of pain, weakness and other plaguing issues, the intensity and amount the patient has to do at home can be reduced. This will help improve the structure and function of the spine, extremities and body depending on the patients injury.
Depending on the area of focus or injury, we have the following equipment used for physical therapy:
- Strengthening Bands – Focus is Isometric to help stabilize joints and core.
- Gambale Chair – Aids in correcting anterior head carriage syndrome and reducing “the hump” on the back of the neck.
- Cervical Curvature Correction Apparatuses – Aids at improving the lack of cervical curvature most of us have developed over time.
- Cold Laser – Introduces energy into the weak or “chronic pain” cells to increase power to the mitochondria to help, promote healing, increase blood flow and reduce of inflammation.
- Combination Therapy – Reduce “knots” and tight muscles to provide an increased range of motion and an increased blood flow.
- Interferential Current (IFC) – Reduces pain, inflammation, muscle tightness and edema.
- Ultrasound – Microscopic vibrations that penetrate deep into the tissue which helps relax muscles, increase in blood flow, increased healing and reduction of inflammation at the cellular level.
- Russian Muscle Stimulation – Helps patients who have had injuries and loss of muscle mass due to incapacitation or extended reduction of movement. This therapy stimulates the muscle to strengthen and grow with minimal effort from the patient.
Why Physical Therapy?
Clinical studies have shown maximum recovery within a reduced amount of time in patients who receive physical therapy in conjunction with chiropractic adjustments.
This is where the individual muscle fibers have become restricted creating the “knot” and the movement of the muscle fibers have become restricted due to adhesions which create pain. Stripping of the muscle fibers help reduce the pain associated in the area. Dr. Eversman not only works on breaking up these adhesions of the muscle fibers, but also the skin and fascia adhesions. The combinations of muscle stripping and Instrumental Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) helps provide the patient with greater range of motion and reduction of pain. Many injures can heal faster and have increased flexibility through Muscle Manual Therapy.
Muscle Manual Therapy can be done by pin and stretch, muscle stripping and Instrumental Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM).
Pin and Stretch a method of pinning or placing pressure on the muscle involved with pain in its contracted state and then passively lengthening it through its range of motion.
Muscle stripping is a technique that aids in the reduction of fiber adhesions, pain, increased range of motion and blood flow.
IASTM aids in the reduction of skin to fascia adhesions, increased ranges of motion and blood flow.
What is a Trigger Point?
Trigger points are pressure points that have developed within the muscle. They are bands of muscles that have become too tight and create a tender area in a muscle that causes generalized musculoskeletal pain when overstimulated. When most people talk about having a “knot” in their neck or back, this is what they are referring to. These trigger points, or knots, can result in pain in the direct area, referred pain, muscle weakness, and restricted movement and flexibility of the spine.
How We Can Help
We will break up those trigger points for you. Combo therapy uses ultra sound and a interferential current together to break up and reduce the trigger point. You may see relief in just one session.
Laser therapy treatments are used to alleviate pain and stimulate healing in our patients. The typical patient will require 4-6 sessions to experience relief at a minimum.
How does it work?
When the laser penetrates the tissue, this stimulation to the cell puts energy into it which enhances healing, improves nerve function, increases vascular activity, and reduces pain and inflammation. The entire process is relatively quick, taking 5-25 minutes per session.
Effective For Many Conditions Including:
- Any kind of back, shoulder, neck pain
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Plantar fascia
- Peripheral Neuropathy
- Arthritis
- Headaches and Migraines
